Healing Heroes Behavioral Health
At Healing Heroes Behavioral Health, we are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of veterans and first responders. As a veteran-owned and operated organization, with a majority veteran and first responder staff, our mission is to empower those who have selflessly served our country and communities. In addition to offering comprehensive mental health and substance abuse treatment in a supportive, recovery-focused environment, we also assist with filing VA disability claims to ensure our clients receive the benefits they deserve. Through personalized treatment plans and expert guidance, we help our clients reclaim their lives and embrace a brighter, healthier future.
FHE Health
Shatterproof FHE Health employs evidence-based therapies, innovative medical care, and a comprehensive wellness program to help first responders successfully manage their condition and/or achieve life-long recovery from drugs and alcohol. We take a holistic treatment approach that attends to the physical, neurological, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellbeing. Our medical and clinical team creates a customized, individualized plan of care to help our first responders:
-
address the underlying issues contributing to symptoms
-
face and overcome specific obstacles
-
increase their ability to manage emotions in stressful situations
On-Site Academy
The On-site Academy is an outgrowth of the critical incident stress debriefing movement. The field has moved to “critical incident stress management”, including pre-incident education, peer support, debriefings, and when necessary, residential training and treatment, which is the role of the On-Site Academy.
The goal of the On-Site Academy is to lessen the impact of the event or events, and to accelerate recovery. Available on a continuous basis, the On-Site Academy is dedicated to maintaining the health, safety and well being of rescue personnel and their families, and to helping restore them to service in their chosen field, as soon as they are able.
MassMen
The MassMen initiative promotes wellness and empowers working-age men across MA to take action to feel better emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
As a first responder, you’re there to protect and serve your community, leading them through many overwhelming situations. The job can lead to personal stress, fatigue, and trauma. Unfortunately, the rates of PTSD, depression, and suicide among First Responders are five times that of the civilian population. First Responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty.
The good news is that there are resources and support in Massachusetts for first responders. You are not alone, and support can help.

First Responder Therapy Dogs
First Responder Therapy Dogs leads the way in addressing mental health needs of first responders by providing emotional support with the use of trained therapy dogs.
Our goal is to provide this free service to as many first responders across the country as possible.
From firefighters to paramedics, dispatch centers, law enforcement, and search and rescue personnel, these brave individuals often confront extreme stress, PTSD, depression, and even suicidal impulses. Our therapy dogs provide the emotional support they need to navigate these intense experiences.
